Pentecost 13

It is nice to be included. And when invitations are given, you feel included when you receive one. Perhaps the first invitation many of you received in life was when you were in Grade School and received an invitation to a classmate’s birthday party. Later in life a typical invitation is to a wedding celebration. And as there is often a limit to the numbers that can be a part of the festivities, it can be painful not to have been one to receive an invitation. Ouch! What great joy to learn in our first reading that God extends an open invitation to all to come and feast and enjoy the greatest celebration of all time! The question is, do we accept the invitation and show up?
