Everyone experiences some adversity and affliction in their lives. The amount of adversity we each bear is not equal. Some endure far more than others. But there is no pain or suffering like one’s own. It grabs our attention, shouts at us, wears us down, and tempts us to lose heart. … This morning Paul speaks encouragement to us from our Second reading. And he insists that as Christians we do not lose heart.
