Foreshadowed Victory Over Temptation

Mark’s account, unlike Matthew and Luke’s, mentions no particular presentation of a temptation by the devil to our Lord Jesus. We are merely told that Jesus was in the wilderness (read desert) for forty days being tempted by Satan, and that the angels were ministering to Him. And although the other accounts tell of Jesus’ overcoming the temptations, we know that such victories were a prelude to the ultimate victory Jesus won over the devil on the Cross.
