Children of the Day

As I was growing up my dad was fond of quoting 1 Thes. 5:5 to me, usually as I struggled to get out of bed in the morning. Rise and shine. We are children of the light and of the day. We are not children of the night or of darkness. As was typically for youths, I wanted to stay up late at night, and then sleep in in the morning for as long as I could. However, my dad did not make that easy for me. And to this day I am thankful that 1 Thes. 5:5 is embedded in my heart...
