Good Friday Tenebrae Service

"Tenebrae" is Latin for shadows or darkness. The service focuses on the last seven words, or sayings, of Jesus before his death on the cross. As each saying is read, one of seven candles is extinguished, signifying Jesus' increasing sorrow, and that the light of the world is dying.
